The upcoming Ather Rizta electric scooter has been sighted in Kathmandu, Nepal, suggesting its official launch is imminent. Bookings are already open through Vaidya Energy, Ather's official distributor in Nepal.
The Rizta boasts a simple, clean design that appeals to a variety of riders, particularly families. Unlike the Ather 450 series, it has a more practical style, featuring a horizontal headlight with built-in daytime running lights (DRLs) and turn signals. The side and rear panels are designed as a single flowing unit, with the rear tail light mirroring the sleek, bar-like design.
The Rizta focuses on comfort and utility, offering a spacious 56-litre under-seat storage area, a long and wide 900mm seat, and a roomy floorboard. According to Ather, this is the largest seat ever on a scooter in India. The boot is large enough to hold groceries, office bags, umbrellas, and more. There's even a small front compartment for storing small items like wallets or coins.
The Rizta is loaded with modern features, including SkidControl traction control, tow and theft alerts, emergency stop signal, live location sharing, and Google Maps navigation, all powered by AtherStack 6. The higher-spec Rizta Z comes with a 7-inch colour TFT screen that supports Bluetooth and navigation, while the Rizta S gets a simpler 'DeepView' LCD display.
In India, the Rizta is offered in two variants. The Rizta S has a 2.9kWh battery with a real-world range of 105 km, while the Rizta Z is available with either a 2.9kWh or a larger 3.7kWh battery, which gives a range of up to 125 km. All versions come with an IP67-rated battery and a 5-year/60,000 km warranty.
