Chery iCaur V23: A Stylish and Practical Electric SUV for Nepal

Chery is set to unveil the all-electric iCaur V23 in the Nepalese market, offering a unique blend of retro-inspired design and modern EV performance. The compact electric SUV is poised to appeal to buyers seeking a stylish yet practical choice for city and light off-road driving.

The iCaur V23 will be available in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration, powered by a 100 kW (134 hp) electric motor producing 180 Nm of torque. The SUV's energy is supplied by a 59.93 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL, delivering a CLTC-certified range of 401 km on a single charge. The SUV also supports 85 kW DC fast charging, allowing drivers to top up the battery quickly and conveniently for longer journeys.

The SUV's rugged appeal is further enhanced by a side-opening tailgate with an external storage box, dubbed a "backpack."

    Compact Dimensions with Off-Road Capabilities

The SUV measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Its proportions are complemented by 19-inch wheels, 205 mm of ground clearance, and impressive approach and departure angles of 43° and 41° respectively, making it capable of tackling mild off-road adventures.

    Interior Features and Safety

The iCaur V23 balances simplicity with modern convenience, featuring a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and air conditioning. Higher trims add premium touches such as leather seats, electric-adjustable seating, and keyless entry. Boot space stands at 334 litres. On the safety front, the SUV comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and more.

    Pricing and Competition

The Chery iCaur V23 is expected to be priced between Rs 40–50 lakh in the Nepalese market, with a likely positioning in the Rs 43–47 lakh range. This pricing strategy would make it a strong contender in the compact electric SUV segment, appealing to buyers seeking both style and value.
