Nepal's Electric Vehicle Market Sees Price Drop at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025

    August 7, 2025

Nepal's Electric Vehicle Segment Witnesses Dramatic Transformation

The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, running from August 6 to 10, has sparked a fierce pricing war among electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers. The event has become a battleground, with brands offering deep discounts and exclusive deals to grab market share.

The Most Hotly Contested Price Band: Rs 50-65 Lakh

The Rs 50-65 lakh range has emerged as the most competitive segment in Nepal's EV market. Brands like Leapmotor, Jaecoo, Mahindra, Forthing, and Omoda are offering their electric SUVs and crossovers in this price range. The Leapmotor B10, Jaecoo J5 EV, Mahindra BE 6, Forthing Friday EV, and Omoda E5 are some of the models available in this range.

    Aggressive Pricing and Limited-Time Offers

Several brands have rolled out aggressive limited-time offers during the expo. The Kaiyi X3 Pro EV flagship variant is now available at Rs 39.96 lakh, a massive Rs 9 lakh drop from its original price. Zeekr has also slashed the price of the Zeekr X to Rs 69.99 lakh, exclusively for the expo. Nissan is offering benefits of up to Rs 20.15 lakh on the Nissan Leaf, further intensifying the competition.

Upcoming Models to Shake Up the Market

The upcoming Deepal S05 electric SUV, slated to debut at the NADA Auto Show 2025, will further intensify the competition. Dongfeng's upcoming Nammi 06, BYD Atto 2, and Suzuki eVita will also enter the price war arena, making the market even more crowded.

    Nepalese Consumers Spoiled for Choice

The intense competition has driven prices lower and raised the bar in terms of features, technology, and performance. Nepalese consumers are now spoiled for choice, with more value offered than ever before. In this fast-moving, price-sensitive market, it's no longer just about who brings the best EV – it's about who gets the pricing, positioning, and timing right.
