    Maxus eTerron 9 Electric Pickup Truck Debut in Nepal's Manang District

    The Himalaya Organization's subsidiary, Himalaya Motrox Pvt. Ltd., has launched the Maxus eTerron 9 electric pickup truck in Nepal's Manang district, located at an altitude of 3,519 meters (11,545 ft). The introductory price of the Maxus eTerron 9 is set at Rs 99,99,000, applicable to limited units.

    A Significant Milestone in Nepal's Electric Mobility Journey

    This launch marks a significant milestone in Nepal's electric mobility journey, representing the highest-altitude launch of a luxury electric pickup in the country. Manang's rugged and demanding terrain served as a real-world proving ground for the eTerron 9's advanced 4WD dual motor system and electronically adjustable air suspension.

    Key Features of the Maxus eTerron 9

    The Maxus eTerron 9 is Nepal's first luxury electric 4WD pickup featuring adjustable air suspension, allowing drivers to adapt ground clearance to various terrains. The vehicle is equipped with a dual motor setup — 125 kW at the front and 200 kW at the rear — delivering a combined torque of 700 Nm. This allows the eTerron 9 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h, offering both power and precision on and off the road.

    Performance and Charging Capabilities

    Powered by a 102.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, the eTerron 9 provides a driving range of up to 560 kilometers on the NEDC cycle. With DC fast charging capability, the vehicle can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 42 minutes, making it practical for long-distance and remote travel.

    Premium Cabin and Advanced Safety Features

    The eTerron 9 a premium, tech-forward cabin, featuring heated, ventilated, and massage-enabled two-tone leather seats with memory functions. The dashboard is highlighted by dual 12.3-inch displays — one for the digital instrument cluster and another for infotainment. Additional features include a floating center console with wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, rear A/C vents, and customizable ambient lighting.

    In terms of safety, the eTerron 9 boasts a Euro NCAP 5-star safety rating, equipped with over 20 advanced safety features, including nine airbags (with far-side airbag coverage), a 360-degree surround camera, and driver assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Auto Hold, and more.
