    Renault E-Kwid EV Spotted Testing in Nepal

    The next-generation Renault Kwid electric vehicle, likely to be launched as the Renault E-Kwid, has been spotted undergoing testing on the roads of Kathmandu, Nepal. This indicates Renault's interest in exploring the country's growing affordable electric vehicle (EV) market.

    The E-Kwid shares its design language with the globally sold Dacia Spring EV, featuring a modern split-headlamp setup, LED daytime running lights, and a rugged, crossover-inspired design. It is expected to bring a practical and cost-effective electric mobility solution to urban buyers looking for a reliable entry-level EV.

    Powertrain and Features

    The Renault E-Kwid is expected to carry forward the Dacia Spring's specifications, with a 26.8 kWh battery pack, paired with two electric motor options - a 44 bhp variant and a 64 bhp version. Both setups are expected to deliver a range of around 220 km on a single charge. Charging capabilities will include a 7 kW AC charger for home use and a 30 kW DC fast charger for quicker top-ups. Inside, the E-Kwid is expected to come equipped with modern features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and power windows on all four doors. Additional features such as cruise control and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality could also be offered, setting it apart from competitors in the same segment.
