The all-new Tata Sierra EV has been spotted in Nepal ahead of the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2026, hinting at an exciting debut for the iconic SUV at the event. This anticipation follows the strong reception of the Punch EV facelift and the new Tiago EV at the recent NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.

Sipradi Trading, Tata Motors’ official distributor in Nepal, has yet to confirm the Sierra EV’s launch plans. However, the vehicle’s presence in the country ahead of the NADA Auto Show strongly suggests it will be showcased, potentially making it one of the biggest attractions at Tata’s booth.

The Sierra nameplate holds a special place among SUV enthusiasts in Nepal. The original Sierra was celebrated for its distinctive design and rugged character. Now, the latest generation returns as a modern SUV, emphasizing premium features and advanced technology. The electric variant elevates this transformation further.

In India, the Sierra EV is available with two battery pack options: 63 kWh and 75 kWh. The 63 kWh version comes with rear-wheel drive, delivering 238 hp and 315 Nm of torque. The 75 kWh RWD variant produces 209 hp and the same torque output. The larger battery can also be paired with an all-wheel-drive system, adding an extra 140 hp from a front motor for a total torque of 504 Nm. Tata claims the Sierra EV AWD accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds with Boost Mode activated.

One of the Sierra EV’s standout features is its impressive range. The 75 kWh RWD variant boasts a real-world range of up to 530 km, while the AWD version is rated at 500 km. The 63 kWh version offers a claimed range of up to 460 km. The SUV supports 120 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 20 to 80 percent charge in approximately 26 minutes. Tata also states that 15 minutes of charging can add up to 263 km of range. With a 7.2 kW AC charger, the 63 kWh battery takes around 8.9 hours to fully charge, while the 75 kWh pack requires approximately 10.5 hours.

Design-wise, the Sierra EV stands out with several electric vehicle-specific touches. Despite sharing its fundamental design language with the ICE-powered Sierra, the electric version features a closed-off body-coloured front fascia, redesigned bumpers, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and exclusive EV badging. Depending on the variant, the SUV rides on either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels and offers 205 mm of ground clearance.

Inside, Tata has focused heavily on technology. The dashboard features a triple-screen layout, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and another 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger. Recycled materials are used throughout the cabin. Higher variants come equipped with premium features such as a 12-speaker JBL Black audio system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, wireless charging, an air purifier, ambient lighting, and rear sunblinds.

The Sierra EV also includes advanced technologies like a head-up display, digital key, connected-car technology, over-the-air updates, Boss Mode, and e-Valet autonomous parking. Safety and driver assistance features encompass six airbags, electronic stability control, a 540-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and auto-park assist. The SUV supports V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging functionality, enhancing its versatility.

The AWD version retains some of the Sierra’s adventure-oriented character with six terrain modes: Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom. It also includes low-speed cruise control for challenging surfaces.

Despite its advanced technology and performance capabilities, the Sierra EV remains practical. It offers 622 litres of boot space, which expands to 1,257 litres with the rear seats folded.

Although Tata Motors has not yet announced the Sierra EV’s launch date or local pricing in Nepal, the vehicle’s arrival ahead of the NADA Auto Show 2026 promises to make the upcoming event even more thrilling, especially after the positive response to its latest EV offerings at NAIMA 2026.
