Electric Pickup Truck MG U9 Launched in Nepal at Rs 98.99 Lakh Price Range Features

MG U9 EV Debuts in Nepal at NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026

Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of MG Motor in Nepal, has introduced the MG U9 EV at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. This launch marks MG Motor’s entry into Nepal’s premium electric pickup segment. The MG U9 EV is available in two variants—Luxury and Flagship—priced between Rs 98.99 lakh and Rs 1.10 crore.

High-Performance Electric Pickup

The MG U9 EV is designed as a high-performance electric lifestyle pickup. It features a dual-motor four-wheel-drive (4WD) powertrain paired with a large battery, advanced technology, and practical utility features. The vehicle’s dual-motor 4WD system includes a 125 kW front motor and a 200 kW rear motor, delivering a combined 700 Nm of torque. MG claims the U9 EV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h.

Battery and Range

The MG U9 EV is equipped with a 102.2 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 430 km. It supports 115 kW DC fast charging and includes a 6.6 kW external Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power external devices.

Off-Road Capabilities

The U9 EV boasts impressive off-road capabilities, with 230 mm of ground clearance and a 550 mm water-wading depth. The dual-motor setup ensures four-wheel drive, enhancing traction on challenging terrains.

Utility Features

In terms of utility, the MG U9 EV offers a 685 kg payload capacity and a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity. Its 3,300 mm wheelbase contributes to a spacious and comfortable cabin.

Interior and Technology

The interior of the MG U9 EV is packed with advanced technology and premium features. It includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-speaker JBL audio system. The cabin features leather upholstery, a heated microfibre leather steering wheel, and 64-colour ambient lighting.

The Flagship variant upgrades the experience with an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat that offers ventilation, massage, and memory functions.

Rebadged Maxus eTerron 9

It’s noteworthy that the MG U9 EV is essentially a rebadged and slightly restyled version of the Maxus eTerron 9, which is already available in Nepal. Both models are developed under SAIC Motor, MG’s parent company, and share the same platform, drivetrain, and core engineering. The primary differences lie in styling, interior trims, and feature packaging, with MG positioning the U9 EV as a more lifestyle-oriented alternative.
