When the Dongfeng Nammi Box first arrived, it captured attention with its futuristic design and premium features, setting new standards in the compact EV segment. Shortly after, the BYD Atto 1 entered the market, leveraging BYD’s strong reputation in EV technology and offering aggressive pricing that made it a top contender for city commuting.

Now, Jagdamba Motors has introduced the Proton e.MAS 5, aiming not just to compete on price but to redefine expectations for buyers in the Rs. 30–35 lakh segment. Priced starting at an introductory Rs. 29.99 lakh, the e.MAS 5 brings features typically reserved for premium vehicles, such as a Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) architecture, multi-link independent rear suspension, a large 14.6-inch HD infotainment display, Level-2 ADAS, and a practical 70-litre front trunk (frunk). This positions Proton as a serious player, blending affordability with advanced technology.
