BYD Dolphin 2025 Launched in Nepal with Upgraded Features

Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. in Nepal, has officially introduced the 2025 BYD Dolphin at an unchanged price of Rs 41.15 lakh. The updated model brings a host of enhancements, with the most notable being the introduction of an industry-first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Low Voltage Battery (LVB).

LFP LVB: A Game-Changer in Energy Storage

This innovative battery replaces the conventional lead-acid unit, offering significant benefits such as being six times lighter, having five times lower self-discharge, and providing a lifespan of up to 15 years. The LFP LVB is backed by a 6-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, setting a new benchmark in reliability and energy storage for low-voltage systems.

Advanced Features and Upgrades

The 2025 Dolphin continues to utilize the advanced BYD e-Platform 3.0 and incorporates the ultra-safe Blade Battery technology. It delivers a WLTP-certified range of 340 kilometers and supports fast DC charging, enabling an 80% charge in just 30 minutes—ideal for urban mobility and long drives alike. The new version features a sport-tuned suspension system for enhanced handling, brighter LED headlights for better night-time visibility, and a more efficient air conditioning system for improved cooling and heating performance. To further boost convenience, BYD has added smart features such as a Mobile Phone NFC Key, Bluetooth Key, and Passenger Door Switch.

Premium Color Options and Competitive Pricing

The 2025 Dolphin is now offered in a fresh Atlantis Grey finish, joining the existing Urban Grey and Ski White options, giving customers a broader range of premium color choices. Despite the range of upgrades, the new model retains its competitive pricing and includes a 7kW home charger in the package, offering strong value for buyers seeking a modern, efficient electric hatchback.

A Milestone Achievement for BYD

During the launch, Cimex celebrated a significant global milestone—BYD has delivered over 830,000 units of the Dolphin worldwide, with the 2,490th unit delivered in Nepal. This achievement highlights the growing popularity of the Dolphin and reinforces its position as Nepal's best-selling electric hatchback, trusted for its performance, practicality, and eco-friendly design.
