Key Takeaways

  • Cimex Inc launched the updated BYD Sealion 7 at the NADA Auto Show 2026 at Rs. 92,99,000.
  • That is Rs. 13,14,000 more than the superseded version at Rs. 79,85,000, and the increase buys a much stronger motor rather than just a price rise.
  • The motor goes from 100 kW on the outgoing Nepal car to 170 kW with 380 Nm of torque.
  • The 71.8 kWh battery pack and the claimed 440 km range are unchanged.
  • It adds DiPilot 100 Level 2 ADAS, DiSus-C adaptive damping, ventilated and massaging seats, 11 airbags and a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display.

The Motor, Not Just the Price, Has Changed

Cimex Inc, the authorised BYD distributor in Nepal, has started selling an updated BYD Sealion 7 at the NADA Auto Show 2026. The new price is Rs. 92,99,000.

That is Rs. 13,14,000 above the version it replaces, which sold at Rs. 79,85,000. The important detail is that this is not a straight price increase. The outgoing Nepal car used a 100 kW motor. The updated one uses a 170 kW motor producing 380 Nm of torque.

What changed and what did not

Superseded version Updated version
Price Rs. 79,85,000 Rs. 92,99,000
Motor 100 kW 170 kW, 380 Nm
Battery 71.8 kWh 71.8 kWh
Claimed range 440 km 440 km

The battery pack and the claimed range are untouched, so the gain is entirely in performance rather than distance.

Platform and chassis

The Sealion 7 is built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo with Cell-to-Body construction, and gets DiSus-C intelligent damping with adaptive suspension. It measures 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall on a 2,930 mm wheelbase.

Driver assistance

The SUV carries BYD's DiPilot 100 system, marketed as God's Eye, with 12 ultrasonic sensors, a 5 mm-wave radar and 11 cameras feeding an omniview system. Safety kit runs to 11 airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and Level 2 ADAS.

Cabin

Inside there is a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen, a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, 128-colour ambient lighting, ventilated seats with a massage function, Nappa leather, a new four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a 12-speaker audio system, a 50-watt wireless charging pad, NFC keyless entry, an electrochromic panoramic sunroof and a 220-volt supply for laptops.

Anyone who was quoted the old Rs. 79,85,000 figure should confirm which version they are being offered, because the two cars are meaningfully different to drive. Current price and full specifications are on our BYD Sealion 7 page.
