Tata Punch EV Facelift Debuts in Nepal at NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026

The Tata Punch EV facelift is set to debut at the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, marking the first major update to Tata Motors’ smallest electric SUV since its launch. This refreshed model brings subtle styling changes, upgraded features, and a larger battery pack designed to enhance range, performance, and overall efficiency.

Enhanced Battery and Performance

For the Nepalese market, the Punch EV facelift will feature an upgraded 40 kWh battery pack, replacing the previous 35 kWh unit. This new battery is paired with a single front-mounted electric motor that powers the front wheels, delivering 129 hp and 154 Nm of torque. The ARAI-certified range is 468 km, with Tata claiming a real-world (C75) range of approximately 355 km. This improvement makes the vehicle more practical for longer journeys and daily use.

Performance has also been boosted, with Tata reporting a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under nine seconds. The SUV boasts a 32 percent restart gradeability, enabling it to tackle steep inclines with confidence. Drivers can choose from three drive modes — City, Eco, and Sport — and adjust four levels of regenerative braking via paddle shifters.

Improved Charging Capability

Charging efficiency has been significantly enhanced. With a 65 kW DC fast charger, the Punch EV facelift can reach 80 percent charge from 20 percent in just 26 minutes. Tata also states that a 15-minute charging session can provide up to 135 km of range. These improvements are supported by a more efficient battery and powertrain system, featuring reduced component count, simplified wiring, and better thermal management.

Refreshed Design and Interior Updates

The facelift introduces a cleaner design inspired by the latest internal combustion engine (ICE) Punch. Notable exterior changes include a redesigned front bumper, a closed-off grille, new 16-inch alloy wheels, updated colour options, and connected LED tail lamps. The vehicle retains its robust 195 mm ground clearance and 450 mm water-wading capability, ensuring it remains well-suited for Nepal’s varied terrain.

Inside, the cabin maintains its familiar layout but features updated trims. Higher variants come equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Depending on the model, additional features include wireless charging, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, connected car technology, and a 360-degree camera.

Advanced Safety Features

Safety remains a priority, with six airbags as standard. The Punch EV facelift also includes electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, high beam assist, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts, ensuring comprehensive protection for passengers.

Expected Impact and Launch Details

With its larger battery, faster charging times, refreshed styling, and advanced technology, the Tata Punch EV facelift is poised to strengthen Tata Motors’ electric vehicle lineup in Nepal.
