MG U9 EV Pickup Debuts in Nepal 325 kW Dual-Motor and 430 km Range

Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of MG Motor in Nepal, is set to introduce the all-new MG U9 EV—a premium electric pickup truck designed to revolutionize the market. This launch signifies MG Motor’s ambitious entry into the high-performance electric vehicle segment, targeting enthusiasts who crave power, technology, and luxury in a single package.

MG U9 EV: Performance and Power

The MG U9 EV is engineered for exceptional performance, boasting a dual-motor setup equipped with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors. With a combined output of 325 kW, split between 125 kW at the front and 200 kW at the rear, the vehicle delivers an impressive 700 Nm of torque—250 Nm at the front and 450 Nm at the rear. This powerful configuration enables the truck to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 190 km/h.

Versatile Suspension and Drive Modes

Designed for diverse driving conditions, the MG U9 EV comes equipped with advanced suspension systems, including air suspension, a double wishbone front suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension. An innovative All-Terrain System (ATS) offers multiple drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Tow, Off-Road, and Custom. These modes are tailored to adapt to Nepal’s varied terrains, ensuring optimal performance in any situation.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

The vehicle is powered by a robust 102.2 kWh LFP battery pack, providing a WLTP-certified range of up to 430 km. It supports DC fast charging, allowing users to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 42 minutes. Additionally, the MG U9 EV features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability of up to 6.6 kW, along with multiple 2.2 kW interior outlets, making it a versatile mobile power source for various needs.

Step inside, and the MG U9 EV impresses with a focus on comfort and cutting-edge technology. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-speaker JBL audio system. Premium features such as leather upholstery, a heated microfibre leather steering wheel, and 64-color ambient lighting elevate the driving experience.

The Flagship variant takes luxury a step further with an 8-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat that offers ventilation, massage, and memory functions. Relationship to Maxus eTerron 9

While the MG U9 EV is essentially a rebadged and slightly restyled version of the Maxus eTerron 9—already available in Nepal—both models share the same platform, drivetrain, and core engineering developed under SAIC Motor, MG’s parent company. The key difference lies in their interior trims and feature packaging, with MG positioning the U9 as a more lifestyle-oriented alternative.
