Key Takeaways

  • Nepal Bank has the lowest rate among major banks at roughly 4.94%, its base rate plus a 0.49% premium, with a 0.5% service fee and a lifetime credit card facility up to Rs. 300,000.
  • Rastriya Banijya Bank is at 5.02% with financing up to Rs. 1 Crore and a tenure up to 7 years.
  • Nepal Investment Mega Bank is at 5.13%, while Nabil Bank and Global IME Bank are both at 5.17%. Nabil caps financing at 60% of vehicle value.
  • Above that group: Kumari Bank 5.21%, Laxmi Sunrise 5.49% on EV loans, Muktinath Development Bank 5.54%, Agricultural Development Bank 5.66% and NIC Asia 5.99% fixed for up to 7 years.
  • Almost every scheme charges 0.5% of the loan amount as a service or processing fee, and the base-rate-linked offers can rise later while NIC Asia's fixed rate cannot.

Five Banks Are Under 5.20% for the NADA Auto Show

Banks are competing hard on vehicle loans during the NADA Auto Show 2026 at Bhrikutimandap, and five of them have pushed their rate below 5.20%. The 18th edition of the show runs from August 25 to 30, 2026.

The reason is liquidity. Banks are sitting on ample deposits with weak credit demand, so vehicle loans are one of the few places to put money to work, and most lenders have kept their premium at roughly 0.5 percentage points over base rate. Banks are also betting on the show plus the festive season lifting sales.

The five cheapest rates

Bank Rate Key terms
Nepal Bank 4.94% Base rate plus a 0.49% premium, 0.5% service fee, plus a lifetime credit card facility up to Rs. 300,000 with no extra fee
Rastriya Banijya Bank 5.02% Financing up to Rs. 1 Crore, tenure up to 7 years, 0.5% processing fee
Nepal Investment Mega Bank 5.13% NADA special scheme, 0.5% processing fee
Nabil Bank 5.17% Financing up to 60% of vehicle value, 0.5% service charge, show period only
Global IME Bank 5.17% 0.5% service fee, with separate fixed-rate schemes for EV buyers

Nepal Bank is the cheapest of the major banks at roughly 4.94%, arrived at as its base rate plus a 0.49% premium. Because it is a base-rate-linked product, the number moves when the base rate moves, unlike a fixed-rate scheme.

The rest of the field

Bank Rate Note
Kumari Bank 5.21% 0.5% service charge
Laxmi Sunrise Bank 5.49% EV loans
Muktinath Development Bank 5.54% NADA scheme
Agricultural Development Bank 5.66% NADA scheme
NIC Asia Bank 5.99% Fixed rate, up to 7 years
Prabhu Bank Base rate plus 0.50% 0.5% service charge

What actually decides the cost

The headline rate is only part of it. Three things move the total more than a few basis points of interest:

  1. Fixed or base-rate-linked. NIC Asia's 5.99% is fixed for the tenure. Nepal Bank's 4.94% and Prabhu Bank's rate float with the base rate, so they can rise later. A higher fixed rate can end up cheaper than a lower floating one over seven years.
  2. Loan-to-value. Nabil caps financing at 60% of vehicle value, so a buyer needs 40% up front. Rastriya Banijya Bank goes up to Rs. 1 Crore. Two loans at the same rate are not the same deal if one demands far more cash at signing.
  3. Service and processing charges. Almost every scheme here charges 0.5% of the loan amount. On a Rs. 50 Lakh loan that is Rs. 25,000 payable at disbursement.

Run the numbers on the vehicle you actually want before you sign anything at a bank stall. Our EMI calculator takes the price, your down payment, the rate and the tenure and gives you the monthly payment and total interest, so you can compare two banks on the figure that matters, which is what you pay each month.

Every launch, price and show discount from the event is tracked on our NADA Auto Show 2026 page.
