Hero MotoCorp Launches Vida Electric Mobility in Nepal

Hero MotoCorp has announced Nepal as the inaugural international market for its electric mobility brand, Vida, marking a significant step in the company’s global expansion strategy. This launch, in collaboration with CG Motors, introduces three new electric vehicles: the Vida VX2 Go, Vida VX2 Plus, and the Vida Dirt.E K3 electric off-road motorcycle designed for young riders aged 4 to 10 years.

Product Lineup and Specifications

The Vida VX2 Go is priced at Rs 2,99,900 and features a removable 2.2 kWh battery. Hero claims it offers a real-world range of 75 km, a top speed of 70 km/h, and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 4.2 seconds. For those seeking more range and performance, the Vida VX2 Plus is available for Rs 3,99,900. It includes dual removable 2.2 kWh battery packs, totaling 4.4 kWh, delivering a range of 140 km, a top speed of 90 km/h, and a 0 to 40 km/h sprint in 3.1 seconds.

Both scooters support DC fast charging, achieving 80 percent charge in about 65 minutes. They also feature removable battery packs that can be charged via a standard household socket. Advanced connected features include navigation, geo-fencing, over-the-air software updates, smartphone connectivity, and call and SMS alerts through the My Vida app.

Youth-Focused Electric Off-Roader

Joining the scooter lineup is the Vida Dirt.E K3, priced at Rs 1,99,900. Designed for younger riders aged 4 to 10, this electric off-road motorcycle is powered by a 350 W motor and a removable 360 Wh battery, providing up to three hours of riding time depending on terrain and riding mode. The Dirt.E K3 includes app-based parental controls, allowing adults to set speed limits and choose from three riding modes. It has garnered international acclaim, winning both the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and the CES Innovation Award 2026.

Strategic Importance and Market Impact

Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer of Hero MotoCorp's Emerging Mobility Business Unit, emphasised Nepal’s importance in the company’s international electric mobility strategy. She highlighted that this launch represents a major milestone for Vida as it enters global markets and that the partnership with CG Motors will facilitate the delivery of technology-driven electric mobility solutions to Nepalese customers.

Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of Chaudhary Group, noted that the arrival of Vida coincides with Nepal’s growing adoption of sustainable transportation. She stated that the new range of electric scooters and the youth-focused Dirt.E K3 will expand the country’s electric two-wheeler options and support the shift towards greener mobility.

With the introduction of the VX2 range, Vida enters one of Nepal’s fastest-growing electric scooter segments. The VX2 Go and VX2 Plus will compete directly with established rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak Electric, and Ather Rizta, all of which have gained popularity among urban commuters in recent years. This strategic move positions Hero MotoCorp as a key player in Nepal’s evolving electric vehicle market.
