BYD has launched the 2025 Dolphin in Nepal featuring an industry-first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Low Voltage Battery (LVB) for enhanced reliability and longevity. The electric hatchback boasts a WLTP-certified range of 340 kilometers and supports fast DC charging, achieving 80% charge in 30 minutes. Despite significant upgrades, the 2025 BYD Dolphin maintains its competitive price of Rs 41.15 lakh and includes a 7kW home charger in the package.

India Sees Rise in Hybrid Vehicles Amid Sluggish Electric Car Sales

Nepal's 1st Liquid-Cooled EV Charging Station by GadiCharge, Huawei Collaboration Unveiled
Nepal launched its first Huawei super-fast EV charging station, featuring liquid-cooled hub technology and 200kW+ solar integration. The station supports CCS2 and GB/T charging, capable of charging up to 10 vehicles simultaneously at 240kW with dynamic load distribution. GadiCharge plans to expand with 86+ locations nationwide, including nine Huawei Liquid-Cooled Hub EV charging stations this fiscal year.

Mahindra to Launch All-Electric BE 6 and XEV 9e SUVs in Nepal Soon
Mahindra is set to launch the BE 6 and XUV 9e electric SUVs in Nepal, featuring competitive pricing and advanced EV technology.. The BE 6 is priced at Rs. 76.30 lakh and Rs. 83.80 lakh, while the XUV 9e ranges from Rs. 77.65 lakh to Rs. 1.07 crore, offering two and three variants respectively.. Both EVs feature 99 kW and 199 kW motor options, 59 kWh or 79 kWh LiFePO4 battery packs, and ultra-fast charging capabilities, achieving 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.. The BE 6 offers a range of up to 682 km, while the XUV 9e provides up to 656 km, both equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipsets for advanced driver assistance systems and connected car features.. These electric SUVs boast a premium interior with advanced technology, including digital displays, wireless chargers, and sophisticated suspension systems for enhanced ride quality.

Electric Vehicle Tax Rates Unaffected in 2022-2023 Budget Announcement
Nepal's Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced no changes to the current electric vehicle (EV) tax structure for the fiscal year 2025-26. A 1% customs duty will be imposed on imports of equipment for establishing EV charging station industries, with a 5-year income tax exemption for these industries. The current EV tax rates range from 15% customs duty for cars with up to 50 kW motor capacity to 80% for those above 301 kW. The government's decision provides policy stability but some stakeholders had hoped for further tax relief to accelerate EV adoption in Nepal. This cautious approach reflects the government's strategy as Nepal's EV market continues to develop.
