GWM Nepal is set to unveil the Jolion Max EV at the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, marking a significant expansion of its electric vehicle lineup in the Nepalese market. If introduced, the Jolion Max EV will join the brand’s existing electric offerings, which currently include the Ora 03 electric hatchback and the Ora 5 electric compact SUV.

Strengthening GWM’s Position in Nepal’s EV Market

The arrival of the Jolion Max EV is expected to bolster GWM’s presence in Nepal’s rapidly growing electric vehicle segment. Particularly in the highly competitive electric SUV category, the Jolion Max EV is positioned as a larger and more premium option compared to the Ora 5. This strategic move aligns with the increasing demand for electric SUVs in Nepal, offering consumers a spacious and technologically advanced driving experience.

Design and Dimensions

The Jolion Max EV boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 4,590 mm in length, 1,877 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a ground clearance of 190 mm. Designed with family buyers in mind, the SUV features a spacious interior and an elevated road presence, making it ideal for both city and highway driving.

Performance and Range

Equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery pack, the Jolion Max EV delivers a WLTC-certified range of over 400 km. Its electric motor produces 150 kW of power and 260 Nm of torque, ensuring a balanced mix of performance and efficiency. The SUV supports 6.6 kW AC charging as well as DC fast charging, and includes a heat pump system to enhance energy efficiency across various climate conditions.

Modern Styling and Technology

Following GWM’s modern SUV styling philosophy, the Jolion Max EV is adorned with LED headlamps, daytime running lights, rear LED lighting, alloy wheels, and a sporty rear profile. The model will be offered in two variants—High and Top—both sharing the same electric powertrain.

The cabin emphasizes advanced technology and comfort, featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and includes Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, multiple USB ports, a six-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a panoramic camera system.

The Top variant will include additional premium features such as a panoramic sunroof with an electric shade, electric tailgate, ventilated front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a head-up display, and electric passenger seat adjustment.

Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is a cornerstone of the Jolion Max EV, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Depending on the variant, the SUV offers features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Rear Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Standard safety features include ABS, EBD, Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, Hill Descent Control, Automatic Vehicle Hold, Electronic Parking Brake, and Secondary Collision Mitigation. The Top variant will also feature curtain airbags and enhanced collision protection systems.

Convenience and Additional Features

The Jolion Max EV is equipped with several convenience technologies, including a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, a transparent underbody view system, an omniview camera, wireless charging support, and multiple intelligent driving functions designed to enhance the overall user experience.

Expected Pricing and Market Position

Although GWM Nepal has not officially announced pricing, the Jolion Max EV is anticipated to be positioned between Rs. 60 lakh and Rs. 65 lakh in Nepal. With its 400 km+ range, premium features, advanced safety systems, and spacious SUV design, the model is poised to compete in one of the most crowded EV segments in the country.

Alongside the Ora 03 and Ora 5, the Jolion Max EV has the potential to become GWM’s flagship electric SUV offering, targeting customers seeking a premium, technology-focused, and practical electric vehicle.
