Yamaha Nepal has introduced the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid in the Nepalese market, priced at NPR 4,89,900. This new model comes approximately NPR 55,000 more expensive than its standard, non-hybrid counterpart. The launch signifies Yamaha’s initial foray into integrating hybrid technology within its motorcycle range.

Engine and Compliance

The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid retains the well-known 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, now updated to comply with the OBD-2B norms set for 2025. It delivers 12.4 PS of power and 13.3 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox—specifications that remain consistent with the standard model.

Hybrid Features

The standout feature of this version is the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). This innovative system offers several benefits:

• A mild torque boost during acceleration.
• Near-silent engine starts.
• An automatic stop/start function that turns off the engine when idling, enhancing fuel efficiency.

While the performance enhancements are subtle, the primary focus of this hybrid model is on improved refinement and fuel economy rather than increased power.
