Nepal's Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced no changes to the current electric vehicle (EV) tax structure for the fiscal year 2025-26. A 1% customs duty will be imposed on imports of equipment for establishing EV charging station industries, with a 5-year income tax exemption for these industries. The current EV tax rates range from 15% customs duty for cars with up to 50 kW motor capacity to 80% for those above 301 kW.
